Democracy or Republic or … What?

Ed Rasimus is a retired Air Force jet jock who now teaches history in public schools.

In an article on his website, Ed answered a request I made to explain the difference between a democracy, a republic, and what we have. In providing that answer, he enables us to go further, to understand that our inherent human nature is best served by what the founders put in place, but that our lesser nature has eroded over the years.

The founders were not just smart; they were also wise. Very wise.
