Some things change, some don’t.

You can’t really tell one person’s story because, if you know them and they know others, there’s not one story, there are many, and they’re all intertwined. They are much like the roots of a tree, branching, turning, winding themselves around one another, each one growing, expanding and pressing on those nearby.

I was born on my birthday six days after my father died. I would be 49.

Rarely, only very rarely, do I teach a group that is close to if not completely indifferent to the topic at hand.

Well, I thought this was a 1.5 day job in Alameda so I budgeted 2.5. As it happens, however, it’s going to be 4.5 by the time I’m done, and that’s only after farming out some of the grungy verification details to other specialists, all to be completed before New Years. (I doubt I made any friends among that group with this last minute chore.)

The Sunnyvale Rod & Gun Club is up in the Bay area’s foothills, just behind (and in) Cupertino. Bullseye is fired on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month with “first shot” at 6:30PM.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was bright and sunny but this morning the fog is jammed down hard on the surface.

The fog has lifted and the morning sun on the pelican’s wings is warm and welcome.
