Some things change, some don’t. Heavy snowfalls on Picardy Place where I grew up meant no school, sometimes for several days, because Memphis Tennessee was in the mid-south–it had no snow removal equipment.

I was born on my birthday six days after my father died.
Rarely, only very rarely, do I teach a group that is close to if not completely indifferent to the topic at hand.
Well, I thought this was a 1.5 day job in Alameda so I budgeted 2.

The Sunnyvale Rod & Gun Club is up in the Bay area’s foothills, just behind (and in) Cupertino.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was bright and sunny but this morning the fog is jammed down hard on the surface.
The fog has lifted and the morning sun on the pelican’s wings is warm and welcome.
