They took blood samples this morning and, because my Dad was an MD – thoracic (pronounced “thor-ass-sick”!) surgeon – I’m always curious about the “stuff” in examining rooms.

It’s a strap-on bunch of magnets, originally intended to hang on to nuts and bolts but here you can see it does just great with a set of channel plyers, my NRA knife, S&W 36 snubby and a combination straight and phillips head mini-screwdriver.

Back when 300 baud dial-up was new – yeah, that’s a long time ago, all right – we had a “guest” login to a mainframe where a friend worked. He had administrative privileges and, being the generous sort, we were “in”.
